Lanterra has become the home of a long tailed hoppy softball sized grey creature. I believe him to be from the family of Hoptus-tailus-disease-abus-rat-finklestine. He prances about the yard and garage like a king waiting for his Hossenffer. It can't stand the little bastard any longer. I have seen him several times over the past few months. One morning in February I was shocked to find he was living nightly underneath the hood of my prized 2005 Dodge Magnum. For My wife he might as well be a Werewolf of the Sasquatch or the dog gone Lock ness monster....Please help me rid my domain of this free loading beast.
How do I get rid of this bugger? Get a Cat, Bait or Traps?

If you are a tree hugger you can get a live trap from the DNR. If it were me, I would pick up a few of those sticky tiles and place them around your magnum and place a chunk of food in the middle. The rat will get stuck and eventually suffocate when his little rat face gets stuck to the gluey tile. Traditional rat traps work well as long as the neighborhood cat doesn't get curious. If you know where he sleeps at night then all you need to do is pick your poison. Good luck.

I use the bait that breaks off in little blocks. It's not messy and I can place it where my other animals can't get to it. It's usualy gone the next day after I place it out. I have two types of rats that come to eat my chicken food and eggs. One is the common rat and the others are Kargaroo desert rats. I have many cats. They help but there is always a need for me to poision about 3 times a year or they take over. They will chew the wires on your car. They went in my husbands bass boat and chewed up wires and gear. They can have over 20 babies at a time. Then where ever the rats are the snakes come.
