Billp,

We didn't get snow, but it's chilly and very windy here. I had extra coverage last night inside the hoops. It's a good thing I did cuz one of them opened up over night in the gusty winds we had. Closed things back up this morning and waiting for some warmer temps the end of the week. We really could use some warmer temps. This is very unseasonably cold for these parts. Where did Summer go?

38 here also with occasional thunder. Thank you mother nature.
No flies or mosquitoes around.
Tool cool for most weeds to germinate.
No heat stress.
Don't have to worry about your beer getting warm.
You can work all day in the patch without sweating.
Grass not growing either so mowing isn't necessary.
All of the old stale heating oil in the tank is getting used up.
Sun block not needed outdoors.
Corn and potatoes are rotting in the ground so we'll be forced to eat healthier stuff like lettuce and broccoli.
Thank you, thank you.

John-
Sure thing. Didn't the old timers call snow poor man's fertilizer? If that is true, my N content went up today.
At the rate spring is going, maybe the weigh-offs will hold competition for snow pumpkins....frosty could be the judge...

Pumpkin plants sure seem to be moving slow here in central MN. Almost need a magnifying glass to monitor daily growth. A high in the low 50's today, cloudy, and a light rain. I'm waiting till June 1 before I start to worry. Hopefully growth will have started taking off by then.

Good weather up north. Rainy a bit but temps are still well above average for this time of year. Could change fast here though. Hope not.

The cold continues here in chilly wyoming county. 40 degrees at 8 am. My plants look like they are in hibernation. Maybe this weekend's forecasted warmth, 70's, will get them growing.
