I just wanted to ask all my friends on here to be praying for my Dad who has just found out last week he has esophagus cancer. Dad has his head held high going into this and still insists hes growing this year, and says he will have a pumpkin at a weigh off this year no matter what it weighs.
I got his plants in the ground for him a few days ago and hes excited about getting started.
The entire time he was in the hospital he never showed any worry at all about this cancer he has, all he really worried about was if he was going to get his plants in the ground on time. Dads been working like a dog on his patch all year, he has his soil test done, amendments in, and compost down, and his soil is tweaked the best he can get it. He even made sure he had his hoop houses up last week before he would go to the hospital to find out what was wrong with him.

If you show as much heart as you did getting your patch ready this year Dad then I know your gonna show alot of heart fighting this soon to be gone cancer away.Your gonna beat it!
Your gonna be around a while Dad dont you worry about that, and you might even beat me at a weigh off one year..... Ok, scratch that, I dont think you will ever beat me at a weigh off but you can still try like hell cant you?,LOL

Your gonna pull through this Dad, alot of people on here are praying for you.

This is very sad to hear.
My best wishes are with him Brooks. I've had the priviledge of meeting and talking with him at the OVGPG weigh off and on the forums. I know he is a strong willed man who has the strength in him to beat this.
I am certain he will have a full and speedy recovery.
