I'm somwhat confused how to train the shape of the main vine. The following diagram is one I found from a link on here which suggested you try and make a triangle shape. Where is the seedling?! Is it at x, y, or z?
Main Vine (vertical) __x__ ___|___ ____|____ _____y_____ ______|______ ________|________ secondary vines (horizontal) _________z_________
I'm guessing its at x and the fruit is midway between y and z? Do you plant your seedling on the edge of your plot (aiming to get the fruit in the middle surrounded by vines) or in the middle because who knows which way it will grow?!
I'm new to this but all help is appreciated. Thanks!

ok that didn't work. The spaces got removed. x,y,z are all in a vertical line. It should look like a Christmas tree.

I've found the seedling is at z. I didn't see the new growers section before.

thats the tipical pattern most of us use ,,,,but if you got the room you can let your side vines go even farther then that ,,,,12 to 15 feet on both sides,,,,,but have heard of some people letting them get 20 to 25 ,,,,,,most people use the christmas tree pattern ,,to conserve space,,hope this helps,,Rob
