Sorry about that maybe you could explain the watering butts in your garden that you showed in your diary on this post? From the picture it just looks like black trashcans with driphoses connect? Does it flow naturally by itself or do you control the flow by the different heights of drip tubing? I noticed they are taped off on sticks at different positions oer the plants? Thanks Again Bumkin

Here’s the email I tried to send - I have 5 black dustbins one beside each plant. The middle dustbin has a ball valve in it attached to the water supply so this sets the level of the water. The other 4 bins are about the same level, I have a slight slope in my tunnel so at one end there are trays underneath the bins to bring the level up and at the other end the bins will only half fill. Then I have normal garden hose siphoning water from bin to bin. In the side of each bin is a pipe from a garden watering kit pushed in below the water level which is attached to a bamboo at the other end. The speed of the drip is controlled by how far the bamboo is pushed into the ground so you can get it to run constantly or just a drip of water every few seconds. I’ve done this for a couple of years now and it seems to work ok, this evening after a days sun the water in the bins feels quite warm.
