I put some out last week. Most of the others are going in this week.

Not yet. It's been cool and moist here. A high of 40 degrees F today with a drizzle. Hope to get at least one plant in early-middle of next week. I don't use heating cables, so I don't want to push it.
mvilljugalo,
I checked out your diary. Those three plants, in your most recent diary entry, have just popped up yesterday it looks like? The first two oval things that open up first are called cotyledons. The first true leaf forms after them. Judging by your pot size(pictured in your diary), I'd say you want to plant them out shortly after the first true leaf starts to open; so your plants don't get root bound. Waiting until May 31st would be a mistake IMO. If there is danger of frost, you'll need to protect them from it somehow...Just trying to be helpful. Best of luck!

I have a Indiana state fair plant that has been in the ground for abour 2 weeks now. Ut is almost 6 feet long and really starting to run. We even have a female that is about 7 or 8 days from flowering, probably will not have any males to pollinate it though and I would rather wait until it is a bit farther out on the plant.

I have a few in the ground. I cover them with a empty pot at night. Even my seeds that I directly planted in the soil are up as of today. They seem to realy like being in the ground.

This is one of my favorite times of the year. I'm putting mine out on the 3rd, it's averaging about 45 to 50 low and 70 highs. I also have a couple of plants still germinating, so they will be out soon.

may 31st........3 weeks to late.......get em in the ground in the next week or so......before the weather gets hot........the plant needs time to develope enough roots to survive
