Just wondering what the maximal temp is inside the hoop that is safe and won't cook the plant?

i would say 100 degrees is max.
we adjust the roof a couple times a dy to keep ours around 90. some plants can take 100 degrees and others will wilt at that temp.

Pap, thanks for the info. No plants are in the hoops yet, still trying to get the ground warm, but yesterday the temp got up to 103.6. I figured this was too high.

always better to err on the side of caution.

today it was 68 and clear sun after 3 cloudy days in a row. the greenhouse temps got to 95 in a hurry, by about 10:30-11 am. i had to open up all flaps and let as much wind cool things back to 85-90. my plants have had a week in the ground to acclimate, but for anyone putting plants into the ground this week, always watch the bright clear days after several days of cloudy weather. this has always been the worst case scenario as far as heat stressing the little ones in my case. also a north dry wind accompanied with low humidity and bright clear sun have been the days the little ones needed to watched closely for signs of wilting. a little misting several times a day helps in this scenario.
