milford, CT,

All my seedlings came up with very curly Cots (9 of them). I was told to immediately take them off the germination mats and start giving them some natural sunlight at room temp(approx 70 degrees here the last few days). Unbelievably 7 out of the 9 returned to normal looking cots within 2 days. Anyone else had this technique work? I'm trying to figure out if it was the technique or would they have ended up growing normal anyway without any intervention. Any feedback is appreciated...Mark

I've seen folks blame peroxide for curly cots but heat seems like the more likely cause. I'm curious to see what others post.

the outer edges of just about all seed leaves when first exposed out of the shell will have curled up edges
they straighten out over the next coupledays be it outside sunlight or under grow light

My 998 had very curley cots when it first emerged out of the soil. After two days in the warm natural sunlight the leaves straightened out nicely. I was concerned and wondered if it was because i assisted the shell off a little to early? All my other germinations were normal...

Thanks guys...I don't know about everyone else but I get a little over the top this time of the year and over analyze.
I've said it before..let nature work it out...it usually does. Thanks ...Mark

I've had an occasional curly for no reason, but the time I soaked in undiluted peroxide, they were all curly
