To all you fellow Giant Vegetable Growers: I am currently loking at the possiblity of seeing how many of you would be interested in ordering Mycorrhizae Endo Plus from me. I can get it fresh right here in my town from the factory. I would send it to the 50 states only in a U.S. Post Office Flat rate Priority Box, so shipping would be $8.95 for one pound to 15 pounds.. The cost to you for the Mycorrhizae would be $9.50 a pound. One pound shipping and handling would be $17.00, two pounds would be $27.95, five pounds would be $56.45, fifteen pounds would be $151.45 so you can see the savings for the more you order at one time. If enough interest is shown, than I can start shipping right away. Email me at [email protected] Thanks for your time. Howard Shelley, grants, Pass, Oregon.

The name of the company is "Mycorrhizal Applications Inc." but now I have a new problem in that Joel Holland is crying foul. He seems to wants to have a Monopoly on selling Pumpkin Supplies. It'll be to bad for the growers if he gets his way. I'll find out more later this week when I go see the owner of the company Mr. Jeff Anderson. Thanks for the inquirey. Howard Shelley.

Howard, I have known you since 1992 and wish you only the best. I think it is time to clear up a few things, however. Your plan at the top of this thread was put into place without consulting anyone at the Company about being a dealer or distributor. You did show up at the Company as a result of a local newspaper article, and you received a free 1 lb. bag of product, but did not talk to Jeff Anderson about any type of sales program. I know Jeff very well, and while he is not the owner of the Company, he also does not have any meeting scheduled with you for later this week or anytime for that matter. Manufacturers generally have field reps that are authorized to distribute their products. I happen to be the authorized distributor for the giant pumpkin/competitive grower community. Once again I wish you success, happiness, and good fortune. Joel

Nothing wrong with free enterprise but I have a problem when people quickly bash others without providing all of the proper info. In these days of big box stores that do not have enough help around EVER! We are thankful for the suppliers of our speacialty products in the quest for the great pumpkin. If saving a couple of bucks is more important than fast and very courteous service that explains all of the mom and pop stores going out of business. Joel YOU have always strived to provide the best products at great prices and will continue to do so I'm sure. If others want to delve into the market place go ahead it's a free country but don't taint someones reputation over a few bucks thats just not what pumpkin growers do (or anyone should do for that matter). I'm sorry folks. I got the name of the owner of Mycorrhizal Applications wrong. His name is Mike Amaranthus and yes I did talk to him last week and will talk to him again tommorrow. When I first went into talk to him last week it was merely to inquire about a few pounds for myself. I had no intention of trying to sell it but Mike told me that he couldn't sell me less than 20 pounds at a time so I thought to myself, why not not try and sell the extra off for a small profit. I really didn't think this would turn out to be a big deal. Joel says he has a lot of time and money invested in this product but I say what about poor old Howard Dill and the years he spent breeding these Big Pumpkins. Howard Shelley

I love the yearly Elk Grove Seminar we have but, Tis the reason we need a more local or Northern California Club. Being lumped in with Oregon and Washington isn't taking advantage of a great price for a somewhat local company to us here- why mail order when we have it right here at a better price. Nothing meant to the folks that do a lot of helping out here but getting together, sharing info and helping each other out is what all of us wanna-bees need and want. Thanks for the heads up aboneman :)

I'd like to say one more thing in that up until about 7 years ago, it was still fun to grow the Giant Pumpkins and it didn't cost a fortune to do so. Now you have to be rich to afford everything it takes to compete. I'm willing to bet that a lot of growers are spending far more to compete than they are winning so has it become an ego trip to gain braging rights or is it all about the money. Howard Shelley

Okay: This will be the last message I post about this matter. I just got back from the Mycorrhizae Plant. Joel Holland had me blackballed and they will not sell me Mycorrhizae. They said that if I hadn't listed it for sale here on this site, then it would have been okay. As a heads up on the their prices (a matter of public record) this product costs$7.50 a pound if you buy the 20 lb. minimum. If you buy 1000 pounds it cost just $4.35 a pound so you can do the math on this one. Sorry that it didn't work out. Howard Shelley.

its easy not to care about prize money and notority when your not getting any.in the early years i did not think about it either.
if you labor long enough at this hobby and put as much money into the hobby as some of us growers have? you definately try and get back some of your investment.via contests ,sales, etc.
as far s your situation regarding selling etc? i have no problem with anyone who is honest and wants to sell a product that would benefit others.
your heart was in the right place.
