I use Mole traps, they seem effective once you learn how to set them.

I've tried EVERYTHING for moles. They get used to the molechasers. Talpirid is the best and most effective mole de-life-afier I've used.

Talk to PAP. He did find some candy wrappers and empty Coke cans in the woods next to the street at his house last year.
I would try mole traps. Also get rid of the grubs. I have used Mole Stop poison with some success. They can do much harm quickly and are hard to remove.

I had terrible mole problems in my patch and a couple years ago I started using a product called Mole-Max made by Bonide. It is granular and the active ingredient is 10% castor oil. I have had NO mole or vole problems in the patch since I started using it.

The vibration products don't work. I used them last year with disappointing results. I might have to try that Mole-Max that Mark's talking about. We've had serious mole problems for 3 years. I've tried everything, with little success. I got some new traps for this year, along with some Talpirid, so hopefully I can rid the patch of them this year.

Ultrasonic works great for me. Get it going as soon as possible though, can take some time (4 weeks) to work. But I love this method. Safe and effective.

Phil, I really do recommend the Mole-Max. Even before I started the pumpkin patch a few years ago I had a terrible mole problem in the yard. Once I started the patch it continued. It seemed they really liked the softer dirt and were attracted to it. Now that I use the Mole-Max every spring on the patch I still have moles in the yard but never a sign of one in the patch.

The ONLY thing I have been successful at is the spear traps. You put it over the tunnel and depress a section right under it. The mole pushes the tunnel back into trap and the spears spring into the tunnel. Make sure when you put it in the ground that the spikes are down and you work them up and down a bit so they are not restricted when they come down. Depress the soil a bit and then set the trigger a bit above. I think it works best if the mole can move a bit of dirt through first so I don't place it firmly against the ground in the depression, but slightly above the depression. So far so good for me. I have found nothing else works.
