Hi All, Hope your growing season is off to a good start. Has anyone gone "old school" and used real fish and seaweed in their patches? If yes, when did you add it and how deep did you bury it to avoid critters that would love to dine on it? Thanks!

this my first year to grow ag's,but i've had a garden sence i was about 15,i always used fish.i started putting it in my patch in oct.never used seaweed, they say the salt content is to high in seaweed just to dump it in your patch.when i put the fish in my patch i cover it with a layer of munure that keeps the smell down.

I used fishmeal on my patch, then manured it and tilled it all in.

I just buried about 10 sunfish in the patch. I only go about a foot down, and make sure they're far enough from the stump area so they will be broken down by the time the roots find them. i always have traps out for the coons and opossums anyway, so they usually don't get dug up.
good excuse to go fishing.
