When do the growers in the northeast generally start their seeds?

I start April 15 and place in ground under a hoop house early May.

I start mine around the 27th or 28th and try to get them in the ground by the 5th of May, usually by the 5th I can see the tiny first true leaf starting to grow, I try to get them in the ground as soon as I can before the plant can get root bound.

Jeremy, That's the reason many growers use coldframes/greenhouses.
