So, I know that Humates contain Humic Acid right..So which would be the better buy? Im hoping some one can unravel this. I did get some Dunkels for my patch, but I wonder about the rest of my garden? Thanks, Croley

This is a broad subject. Basically as dead plants decay they seek to become their final stable organic acids. When LOTS of plants die & accumulate under the right conditions they end up becoming coal. If the coal is soft enough it might bear Leonardite which is high in these organic acids (fulvic & humic acids).
Read some of these links for more & better info than I can provide.

Last year I had a farmer friend bring me a "full dose" of Leonardite. Did it help? I don't know but I did have my best year ever. I'm hoping there will be residual effects this year.
I think you will want to get it out there as soon as possible.

I read all the articles Tremor suggested and I would say using one of these elements would really help the soil, that is what you really want. Getting away from synthetic fertilizers is best. Guess my hay field and lawn will be getting a good dose of synthetic since I will be using organic. Finding a local source of Leonardite will be a hard one...here in Kentucky, if I was to call the local farm store and ask for it, they probably would say Im a nut..Im sure they all ready know that tho..read the articles they are very informative.
