Honda makes good cars, I had 200 some thousand on my civic, engine ran as good as the day I bought it, no problems at all.

I have a used Honda front tine tiller with two gears and reverse. Paid 450 three years ago. It is a great machine and also starts first pull too.

I'd say that tiller is worth about $600-$700. It probably would cost close to $1000 new.

It all depends on how good the motor is, but 400 is good.

I agree with vineman, I tried to buy a used one at auction last year that was kinda rough looking and it went for a little over 500. Price a new one Fish and you will see. My next tiller will be a Honda, that make great motors.

Honda definetly has a great reputation but that machine looks like an antique to me. I would call someone and try to find out if parts are still available before i bought it . Carl

I sold Honda Commercial power equipment for years. These aren't the heaviest duty tillers & they don't dig deep but they are crazy reliable.
FR700 = Late '80's - early '90's. 8HP - Parts are still available - tines are around $9 each through the aftermarket. Engine parts are easy to get but rarely needed.
It's worth what you're willing to pay for it but $400 is reasonable judging from the apparent condition. This might seem high for a nearly 20 year old machine but it's a Honda - they retain their value well & unless part of a rental fleet, don't usually see high hours.
Check the tines, tires & belts for wear.
There's an older parts machine on eBay right now for $99 with no bids - in Kentucky for pick up only with a blown motor.
