I was thinking about setting up a pumpkin cam this year instead of doing a grower diary (please hold your applause until I'm done)Could someone please tell me what kind of camera I'd need and how I'd link it to BP?

Be careful Erin. Editing could be time consuming and, let's face it, some things were never meant to leave the patch. Remember the pump?

Boom,
Noooo! Keep the diary and the wonderful still pictures. Your's is one of the best here. If you don't write, this whole hobby is going down the tubes. (Well, yes I think that's right.) Where would we be without Edgar?
One thing about webcams... they're a fine concept, but in reality they're extremely poor images that 99.999% of the time don't show anything that anybody wants to see. And then without words, well... it just becomes less interesting.
Speaking of things that nobody wants to see, I've moved my own giant pumpkin blog again. Right now it's about as exciting as a toaster, but I promise it will get better. ;-)

Keep your diary! And to everyone else out there, take some pictures and take some time to write about them. Good luck to all.

The nice things about diaries is that they make looking back at past seasons easy. Kind of nice to see how the pumpkins grew a few years back and how my children have grown as well. Not so sure I could do that as good with a web cam. Big fan of all diaries here, it is the backbone behind Bigpumpkins.com in my opinion. John

Thanks you guys for the encouragement, I'll see what I can do about a diary, but still think the pumpkin cam could be fun.
