The 1068 has been "re-made" many times. Like most remakes, they either haven't been planted by the right growers or simply failed to perform to the expected level.

I went down to the local County Farm Bureau they had a huge variety of AG seeds grown local. Maybe try them in your region? It's worth a shot?
