I hate asking such basic questions, I hope to be laughing at myself by next year. What is a good separation between male and female? The other problem is the area I have, the male may only get direct sunlight six or seven hours a day if I want the producer to get say eight or nine. Will the pollinator be affected and do I have a lack of sunlight issue?

shaker male flowers grow as the plant grows . dont know what you mean by seperation between male and female.you get both on the same plant. males flowers show up first and females (pumpkins) start showing up later six to seven hrs a day is sufficient for the plant ( males or females get the same light on the plant ) - sun is sun eight or better of sunlite is best but you can still grow with less
