That's easy, where do I start, lol! First and foremost, the day of a huge concert I was going to go to, I used chlorox and water on my plants to kill powdery mildew. I did more than kill the mildew, I killed most of the plant that way. Please don't kill your plants, they didn't do anything to you. Lessons learned! Never again!

LIsten to people when they tell me not to grow 3 plants when theres only room for 2. Don't move the vine in the morning or you will snap it. Don't overspray your leaves with sulphur or they will burn. try to leave some time for your wife also! Or pumpkin growing does not seem that fun when your sleeping in the patch.

I tried a couple hail storms and 1 tornado last year. It wasn't good on the plants, so I am going to pass on that this year.

milford, CT,

DON"T....bring in manure from a questionable source. Last year I had corn maggots eat my first 4 plants ....I got lucky to break 700 lbs. Don't be cheap...once you find a reliable source stick with them and periodically test the manure. ($13 at UMASS). I saw the maggots but thought they were nothing...think again! Mark

1. Preventative insecticide and mildew protection
2. Set up automated watering system
3. Fewer leaves next year
4. More sand or increased drainage one way or another
5. I'm considering tilling in the fall and not tilling in the spring since my soil takes so long to dry out

I'm not going to let a snapping turtle lay eggs in my mulch pile..
I'm not going to set a fruit at 7 feet
I'm not going to spray a young plant without rinsing
I'm not going to grow 6 plants where there is only room for 4 (Geometry 101...)
I'm not going to go after the neighbor kids with my mist blower.
I'm not going to use quite so many moth balls (Finally figured out how to get their legs apart!!)
I'm not taking Dean quite as seriously this year.
I'm also not going to plant 32 tomato plants

My goodness, I have more but must stop now....

Don't try this at home!! When using soaker hose's make sure to place them properly! My first attempt had me wondering why the 2 plant's I used them on stopped growing and slowly died.Well after pulling the plants I found that the hose's were placed in a coil at the root base which I buried like a spring, small at top large at the outter base, and I thought this would work GREAT.Not so! The roots wrappped themselves around the hose's and never penetrated the wonderfull pit underneath, they went out straight sideways and even up! so you see I will never do this again!!!

It's a really really good idea to get the plastic for your greenhouses wider than the pvc length. . .

Yo BiZ, that explains the diary entrees....now I know.....

Im not going have as many aborts due to better cooling during pollination time, and cutting the blossom open 12 hours after pollinating. I saw too many rotting blossom ends.

I'm not going to set my pattern - WITHOUT a 'roadway' for bodcat! It's always the center plants that get the big ones..LOL..

I'm not going to wait until kins are rotting - to slice in half to get seeds ..... STENCH for days!!!

I am going to put mouse bait under all 'kins - after they've passed the 5 day mark..
