70's and 80's? That's June weather around here.
10 degrees this morning... still some snow here but nothing like most of the interior west. Some valley spots might still have snow in May!

About the same here Kevin...maybe a little colder. Not as much snow here though. Hopefully we'll have a nice spring to get the plants off to a good start.

Work is over for the day. 5 degrees heading for -12 with high winds tonight. Cedar Rapids so far has had 9th highest winter snowfall total so far, with about 6 weeks to go. Here in Anamosa, we have had about 20" more than Cedar Rapids. Roads are paved with ice. You can't see at intersections until you are out in traffic because the snow piles are so high. Rabbits are now able to chew off bushes 5' above ground level due to drifts. Forecast for spring is for flooding. Gee, I love Iowa. I can't leave it anyway, my feet are frozen to the ground!

Kevin, sitting at the table eating breakfast this morning my 3 year old daughter and I were eyeing up the patch...ok she was eyeing up her sandbox. Anyway she asked if I was growing a "sit pumpkin" this year for her. Obviously refering to your 1450# giant bean bag. I just thought it was funny....but maybe I better take her seriuosly?? -22 here this morning at 4:30.

How cold is it....its not the cold where you go outside and 20 seconds later you say to yourself..it's cold..it's bundling up 10 feet from the door to go out and you say..wow, its cold from cold somehow getting in..then once outside for 10 seconds you kick yourself for not buying a face mask of some kind to cover any exposed skin..

27°F as I type with 3-8" of snow forecasted for tonight. It's all good. Snow is free Nitrogen. It'll be a memory soon enough.
