Brooks, Yes I will be in Chillicothe this Saturday and no I will not have my last 801 with me. I have however decided to have it insured by Lloyd's of London and will have it taken by armed escort to Fort Knox, TN. for safe keeping. I would however like to find 1 daughter of the 801 to accompany it to TN., my 705 from '99. If you can find that one I would break into my seed vault to compensate your efforts.

Brooks I don't have any more, The last 2 I had went to Skip and Clarence. Skips germinated and Clarences didn't. But I am going to try and remake it, if I can get the 560 Rose to pop. Eddy

Hey Brooks look what said Tom Beachy in one of posts in 2004:
'' Back in the day I kept records of who had them, and all that fun stuff. I tried to score one from about 25 different people, and pestered the heck out of them for the entire winter. I would be real suprised if there are any left in the hands of someone besides Holland, Hester, Franek and a few other people. None of the BP.com community has real 705's thats for sure. One of the most rare seeds out there. Dave only saved about 100 seeds, and less than half of them germinated from what I remember. There were 2 types of fruit off of the 705, the perfect nice huge monsters such as Stelts and Daletas, and then there were those like Jim Kuhn and my dad had that were wheel shaped with deep ribs that split about 3 inches wide and about 2 feet long across the blossom......
Tom ''
Hope it helps I also found information that there was one on auction in 2003 PNWGPG and it went For 275$ to MastaGardener but dont know if there were others too.

very good research Artur.
Its amazing how much work I did to try and locate a 705. At one time I had a list of exactly who had them, and how many. It was not complete, but I accounted for over 70 705 Stelts seeds at that time. With some errors I am sure.

Tom, Any idea on the remaining 30 seeds.
You know, the 705 Stelts has been my Holy Grail seed, It seems that the farther away I get from finding it, the more I want it. So would it be better to not find one?

I know quite a few were grown, some were sold, and many many of them did not germinate. Our 705 took a month to start growing. Many of them were very weak out of the blocks. Barely germinated.
