Been grafting mellon to Bushel Gourd rootstalk last 2 seasons With pretty good luck. Last year My best looking grafting started leaking Like a red liquid at grafting area I kept it dry covered never thought much of it. When mellon was around 120 lbs I noticed the plant was dieing fast from stump out to all vine ends. Mellon ended up 156 lbs. My question is what caused this? Is there anyway to correct this once it's set in? I actually noticed the red shortly after I completed the graft in basement but because it was growing so well I never thought much about it. Any input would be great thanks dave
