Results for Lot #28 are incorrect. The same grower bid 60, then 70. But took only 1 set for that lot.
I bid $55 and won the second set. The results should show, $70,$55.

Hard to say why it's listed with "NS"? Does seem odd especially that seed!!! Guess only those who were participating might know?

They put a reserve on it that they didn't advertise. Not sure what the reserve was, but the last bid was over $900.

Are clubs buying seeds and reselling to create reserve conditions? Are most growers under the assumption they are buying a seed in auction that is direct from the grower? May be good time for clubs to add to the rules if all seeds are 'grower direct' or have been moved through a dozen hands and are now 'street seeds'. There was some upset bidders at the end of this auction. Bidders told to bid faster and a 'timer' was announced in some lots that caught people off guard, one bidders feeling it was unfair. Auctioneer said to email them privately for details on the reserve lot. A note was posted that it was a reserve lot just before the lot was posted for bidding.

I think Andy said he was basically out of those so for the most part I dont think direct from the grower is an option at this point. But normally it would be good if the seeds didnt trade hands too much prior to being auctioned.

Here’s the answer to the 2365 Wolf. The club acquired the seed from a very reputable grower for $1,000. The first auction this year of a 2365 saw it sell for $1525. Part of the reason we do auctions as clubs is to raise money for our weighoffs. Then the next few 2365 seeds sold at or less than $1,000. So we set a reserve at $1,000 so we didn’t lose money on the seed. The highest bid was $900 so it was a “no sale”. After the auction a grower stepped up with an offer substantially over the reserve so we sold the seed. We realize we likely could have handled it better by just stating what the seed cost was and starting the bidding at $1,000. Maybe that still would have caused criticism but it might have been a more open way of dealing with our issues. Our apologies for anyone’s angst over this. It’s more than challenging to put a weighoff, raise prize money, solicit seeds, prepare auctions and club meetings so feel free to volunteer with any club to assist in these tasks to assist those of us doing these things.

Clubs get seeds from growers for basically free. If a club gets one at a price undisclosed and sells it to make a profit FOR the club, what's the difference? If one didn't have the reserve $$$, there were other seeds, and there are other auctions. I don't recall Proxy bids having to be disclosed in-amount; I liked the idea, though, of 'Hey, here's the starting bid'. Imagine also the 'Pre-Bidding' on a 2365...eg
