Lol...sorry, but it is like the king of true green squash seeds...lol. Big and heavy offspring. Though, some might argue that there are a couple others that rival. Got it? If so and you want a big green dude, GROW IT! Dale

Grow the 899.5 Werner or 675 Hester squash seeds first.

I tink it is a pretty good seed. LOL!!! The next in line is the 675. Also, my 498 is pretty good as well. The 498 was on the same plant as the 895. Brett

Dave:
From what I understand the 552 x 703 Smith grew the 962
yes the 552 is a sibbed 895.5 but the 703 is a squash grown from a pumpkin the 547 Kournikakas were is the squash breeding in the 547???
Were did you here that sibbing clarifies a strain???
A pure strain if that is what you mean by clarifies is done by line-breeding to a desired outcome removing bad and mutant traits etc.
By crossing the 547 to the 552 it has only contaminated the line by breeding a pumpkin to a squash if that is the final outcome breeding for a squash. By one cross this does in no way make a pure strain or clarifies the strain if that is what you meant.
Get your self an 899.5 Werner and grow that if you want to grow a squash.
Sorry I may have misunderstood what you are growing, if you are growing the 552 x sib yes then you will continue to purify the strain, *notice continue not complete.

The 703 had a dominant recessive green gene, so the 962 will most likely grow squash in my opinion, but it is possible that it could grow a couple of pumpkins. Tom
