With Thanks to Lisa Irwin of Pumpkinfest, from this point forward the Green Jacket/ Squash Trophy will be under the guidance of Sam Lovelace and Glenn Andrews. We look forward to seeing that the squash growers get the recognition they deserve and that the Jacket/Trophy Presentation is a sound and stable event from this year forward. Sam and I have taken on this task with no funds in the coffers and have requested an auction date and instructions from Ken @BP for the proposed 2007 Green Jacket/Squash Trophy Auction. We are looking for donations of auction-worthy seeds and your 2007 seeds that will no doubt be auction worthy down the road !!! If you support the Green Growers or the Squash they grow please consider dropping either one of us a line and donating a seed or two. Remember two things: The goal of the Green Jacket/Squash Trophy is to acknowledge the GROWERS…..so even if you don’t like Squash, the GROWERS could use your support ! Its all about the GROWERS.(Secondly….every squash they grow means there’s one less PUMPKIN to beat you with ! So it’s a good stategy move !...Lol. ) Drop us an email and we can send you a sasbpe….Thanks !

Glenn & Sam have taken the lead on one of the most coveted awards in the world of growing giants. I commend both of them for taking their time and efforts to preserve this award. I hope all growers will take the time to donate seeds and/or bid on their auction for this worthy cause. Thank you for the job you are doing and I will look forward to your presentation in Niagara. We are looking for pumpkin seeds and auction worthy squash seeds and your seeds from 2007 that look promising for the future. There are always seed that fall short at plant day that you know you will just never grow but others would love to have...why waste them? Thanks for all your help !

Great news, you two, thanks for doing this. Let me know how I can help....afraid my squash seeds will NOT create much of a demand but perhaps I could contribute in some other way. Stay in touch and you can count on me to do so "GREEN" bidding! All the best! Bill

Glenn & Sam...I second the accolades. The green jacket was grower inspired & will now be grower administered as intended.
The CT GIANT SQUASH & PGA would like to support your cause. However we just got done begging power seeds for our auction. Tonight we finished selling them. We always have some leftovers but they're not yet likely to command good revenue. Sooooo.....
The Committee voted unanimously today to offer some "proceeds" to your effort if that isn't too tacky.
You're welcome to any seed I grew but they're not going to fuel an auction (yet)! LOL
I'll try calling you again during the week.
