Maybe the squash growers are introverts...like to keep to themselves because no one else understands them..:) Just think of all the beautiful orange pumpkins that could be grown in them squash places.

I'm trying some green for the first time this year. One will be the 946 Carlson/Petersen and the other will be a half orange/half green descendent of the 1367 Rose.

Brian, if you need any squash seeds, let me know. I will take good care of you my friend!
As for myself, I am growing an 895 Hester and crossing it with a 681 Beachemin (895 Hester X 854 Reisnborough). The 681 is only a pollenator plant, unless I can talk a friend into growing it in thier patch. If that is the case, I will have a reverse cross of mine.
G, you cant count summer squash under this message board forum. :o)

I plan to grow three squash this year. The 848 MacKenzie and the 898 Vincent are going in for sure. Still undecide between 824 Brunst, 792 Olsen and 549 Wells. There's a couple more I'm still looking at also.

I plan on at least 4 squash this year. The 848* and a couple of its offspring. I like the 1053* Werner 06 848* x 898 Knauss 1073* Landry 06 848* x open. 662 Cheam 06, 1063*WR MacKenzie 05 x 1068 Wallace.
My thoughts are the pumpkin pollinators will introduce some large case size or wall thickness genes into the 848* line that has been green for a long period of time. At one time the 848* seed line was all pumpkin orange. Will it work? The Jury is out on that question. But the green can be brought back into the next generation by using the 848* as the pollinator for all three of the male 06 pumpkin crosses. Although I don't known the contibuting genes of 1073* I suspect they are all orange and may in fact be multiples of the Heinze57 of plants I had in my patches last year.

Coming over to the dark side this year after several years of bright orange. Not sure which seed yet. Possible candidates are 471 Beachy, 792 Olsen, 772 Golat, 521.5 Andrws, 824 H. Brunst, 820 Lovelace, and another certain "Mystery seed" from a certain NY Grower. You know who you are. lol Any suggestions on these?

Well , since my company is laying us off, i have decided to plant at least one greenie. Either the B. Reeb 889.5 (748.5 koch x 471 beachy) or the 756.5 K Dowdy (471 beachy x 881 beauchemin) I should really plant the B Reeb seeing how this is my nephew and the other seed is his girlfiend. But ill just have to wait and see. Good Luck to all.

Thanks,Quinn, I couldn't find a pic on the AGGC site, but I gather it produced an orange pumpkin based on the graph from that same site. I wonder who will be planting the 1119.5 Razo this season. It will be interesting to see how much green comes out of that cross!
