Either seed will get you a nice true greenie Dave, but my vote goes to the 848, 2 over 1000 first year out, and a world record. Another seed that I think will be great is the 1063.5 Mackenzie. Crossing the 895.5 Hester back into the 848 looks nice to me.

I like the 748 Koch, remember that the 900 Lyons pollinator threw green.

David I think you should plant the 229 or even a 490 Hathorn,,, LOL 229 and 490 fruits came from the same plant. The seed that grew them came from a good grower.

748 Koch. I will be growing it next year. It has proven to grow monsterous and beautiful squash. Both the 929 Magydz* and the 881 Beauchemin* were of the same shape and color. I didn't see any defects, such as dill rings or stem stress, on the Koch so far. The only turn back is that it goes a little light on average. DK

Jim's 881* had alot left in it. It was a late July pol. I think. Another 15-20 days earlier pol. and it may have been 1000. AleX Noel.

I like Bob's 848 best, The world record and two over a thousand. The 1063.5 will look good in my patches as well.

Dave, I have to say 748.5*Koch. Zach will have both 748.5 and the 848*Mackenzie. I think the 961.5*Blalock is one to keep a eye on next year. The 961.5 was light but the male side of it(857 Platte)gave Adam a squash that was 22%heavy. Tuff choice on squash seed....many good seeds to pick from. Clarence

Many growers who plant a greenie only plant one, hence all the selfing that goes on. I am thinking of planting two or three next year. I like the 848 and am planning on crossing with the 552 Sherwood or the 895 Hester.

My 881sq Beauchemin (748Koch x 980Razo) was pollinated on July 25th. It was young and still growing when harvested. (Jim Kuhn grew the 980Razo that i pollinated it with.) 15-20 days more and it's at 1,000lbs plus? Just a thought!
