Be careful Bill. I've heard folks asking for "sulfate of potash" but the garden center help steered them toward Muriate of potash instead. The salt indeces are very different.

I used some p/s 0-0-50 this season, but have been told that it should be only used as a late season push because it 'matures the fruit'..Any thought on this?

Here in the off-season we can apply larger amounts of potash because we're feeding the soil & not the plants. After the plants ar in the ground the usual rules apply:

First 4 weeks - push Nitrogen
Week 4-6 nothing or Phosphorus
Week 6-8 Phosphorus
Week 8-12 Nothing or very mild fish (N)
Week 12-16 ramping up fish/seaweed for mild N&K
Week 16 + Potash (in moderation)...Low Salt but very soluble like Potassium Nitrate, Potassium carbojnate, Potassium hydroxide, Potassoim Thiosulfate, etc
