So I read I may need to supplement calcium to the pumpkins. I am reptile keeper, and have calcium supplement powder to dust crickets before feeding. Do you think I could dissolve this is water and pour by the roots of the plant?

Not really most likely it is Calcium Carbonate. It has to be in the form easily absorbable by the plant. Best is Calcium Chelate or Calcium Nitrate, then Calcium Chloride. I have seen Calcium Gluoconate at often wondered if this is readily absorbable.

Really, even in micron particles, I'd figure especially in early morning it would pass the cell membrane to a certain degree. Maybe not though.
