We have these 5 secondaries on one side (secondaries 7 thru 11) that we've curled up and past the pumpkin into fresh soil. I'd like advice or best practice experience from other growers with my following options.
A) we can move the walking boards, weed the puslane and let those secondaries continue to grow fresh leaves to push the pumpkin late in the season, or B) start terminating those final 5 secondaries with the hope that it triggers the plant into better daily gains.
I'm interested to hear what other growers would do in this situation, I'm surmising that most growers would choose to continue to grow the secondaries with new fresh leaves and roots to help the plant in September/October.
What do you think? Scenario A or B or ?
Thanks/Glenn
