2517 Haist x Self. June 21st Pollination at around 19’ on main vine. 5 Lobes. I know self pollinations are frowned upon by most, but I think this could be a mistake the 3rd and 5th largest pumpkins in the world were self pollinations as well as many other Giants. Also I see alot of self pollinations used the following year for crosses that have very large gains in weight, so this year I have decided after many months of deep thinking to Self pollinate all 5 of the pumpkins in my patch to try to hold onto their awesome genetics for future crosses in following years, because realistically I can’t afford to buy seeds like these every year….
