I received an email warning about pushing a circuit on steady state past 80% capacity. Seems circuit breakers can overheat and lock on. Thank you for this information. It would be depressing to burn my house down. I have four circuits so far that I am using for the grow room. I checked the circuit panel with my infrared thermometer. The hottest breaker was the one protecting the light circuit. It was at 98 degrees. Next, I dug thru my boxes and found my kill o watt meter. I connected it to the light circuit. I believe that only lights are on this 15 amp breaker. The meter reads 1420 watts. No problem, 1420 watts/1800 watts (15 x 120) is 78.89 % utilization. Way under the 80%. Switching to read amps, uh oh, drawing 12.75 amps. how can that be? Switching to voltage. This circuit is enough to cause a voltage drop down to 111V. I am not sure yet what I am going to do about all of this.
