We use wall-o-water plant protectors for our tomatoes, cucs, zucchini. We did try to use them on pumpkins but the pumpkins outgrew them too quickly! We sold wall-o-waters when we had our nursery back in Colorado in the 80's and 90's. They protect plants below freezing and also keep an even temp during the day. We plant our tomato and then cover it with a five gallon pot turned up side down.....
