DAP 40, 2731 Stelts, 44#/day for the past 10 days, estimated weight 893#, optimistic at this point as it is 200# bigger then my 2027 last year, still a long way to go.

Buried the last of the vines yesterday, greenhouse is full! 2731 Stelts in front, 2551 Ford in the middle(will pollinate a pumpkin tomorrow - first pumpkin went down to BES, just to experiment, I probably should just rip it out and plant a cover crop, 2266 Kisamore in the back.

Never had a leaf that looks like this. I have 4 on the same plant and I'm not sure what it is. The rest of the plant looks fine. Any thoughts? Just age, nutrient deficiency (although tissue tests haven't been too bad-see prior post), insects (I have had some aphids and have sprayed twice but these leaves have very few).

This is not my pumpkin but it is off my 2027. It's a local grower who I've been mentoring. He asked what to do about his blossom getting sucked in. I told him to keep it dry and possibly a fan but I haven't had this particular problem before. What will happen if/when the top and bottom meet? It's still growing 20# a day so I think it is a matter of when.

I cut her off 2 days early. These cracks doubled in width yesterday and are making me nervous. The cracks are dry and don't go into the cavity but it makes her even less pretty to look at but she was never going to win a beauty contest. I suspect she will lose some weight but at least she should make the scale.
